What is the Arnold Clark Community Fund?

The Arnold Clark Community Fund helps registered UK charities and community groups close to our branches build stronger communities across the UK. As part of our commitment to give back to the communities in which we operate, we believe that by caring for these communities today, we can help them create a better future.

Why the Arnold Clark Community Fund was launched.

In March 2020, we launched our first ever Community Fund to provide financial help to community groups and charities that had been significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Following on from this success, and as we moved into winter, we established a Winter Edition of the fund, focusing on charities and community groups who help with poverty relief, food and toy banks, and housing and accommodation.

When will the Arnold Clark Community Fund reopen?

We plan to reopen our Community Fund in October 2023 and aim to support a wide range of charities and community groups.

Depending on which funding you apply for, successful applicants can receive a funding amount of up to £2,500 based on the content of their application. To help as many organisations as possible within our local communities, funding amounts will be decided by the Arnold Clark Community Fund.

FAQs

Got questions about the Arnold Clark Community Fund?
You can find all the answers, plus our terms and conditions, here.

How can I apply?

It’s easy! Once applications are open, just select which funding you’re looking for. You’ll then be taken to fill in the relevant application form.

When can I apply?

We aim to have applications open to registered UK charities and local community groups from October 2023. Keep checking back here or on our social channels for more information about the launch date.

What is the application deadline?

Funding will continue on a rolling monthly basis. However, we'd recommend you apply as early as you can once the fund is open, as applications could be paused due to high demand.

How do you decide who receives funding?

Arnold Clark will review applications when they are received, with charities and local community groups within a 50-mile radius of our branches being prioritised.  If your charity or local community group is unsuccessful one month, you’ll automatically be entered into the draw for the following month.

How will I know my application has been received?

We’ll send you an email to confirm that we have received your application.

How will I know if I have been successful?

You will receive an email from Community.Fund@arnoldclark.com letting you know.

How is the monetary funding paid?

All payments will be made by BACS only to a business account in your organisation’s name.

Can we get the money paid into a business account of an organisation that we partner with?

Unfortunately, the business account must be in the name of the organisation that has applied or we will be unable to process the donation.

When is the money paid?

If your application is successful, we’ll contact you to let you know and ask you to confirm your banking details and send us supporting documents; we aim to make the payment within four weeks of receiving this information. Please note, this is only possible if the information is supplied to us by the stated deadline. If the information is supplied late, this will delay your payment. Please see terms and conditions for full details.

If my charity or local community group is unsuccessful, can we apply again later?

There’s no need to apply for a second time, as your application will automatically be entered into the draw for the following month. This will continue for the duration of the campaign.

What is a community group?

A community group is an organisation that is registered with their local council and set up to benefit the community rather than make a profit, such as voluntary groups. They’re not registered charities, and as such, they don’t have a registered charity number.
